Amateur Radio Clubs

Nearly every country in the world has at least one amateur radio club, and often a selection of national and local clubs to participate in. This guide focuses on the United States.

Radio clubs often operate repeaters, participate in regular “nets”, hold regular meetings, and sometimes will offer competitions and other events.

National Clubs

ARRL – The National Association for Amateur Radio is the primary national club for the United States. It’s recommended that every licensed operator maintain a membership because this organization is a strong advocate for amateur radio in the United States, and internationally.

TALARC – The American Legion Amateur Radio Club, for veterans who enjoy amateur radio and would like to participate in providing emergency communications on a national scale.

Local Clubs

ABARC – Anchor Bay Amateur Radio Club, Anchor Bay. Most operators on the Sonoma Coast tend to become a member of this organization.

SCRA – Sonoma County Radio Amateurs, Santa Rosa.

NARCC – Northern Amateur Radio Relay Council, Santa Rosa.

REDXA – Redwood Empire DX Association, Petaluma

VOMARC – Valley of the Moon Amateur Radio Club, Sonoma
